Last year, I mentioned that Divide and Dissolve may be the most important Doom band in the scene. I think they represent an important trend worth paying attention to: Doom is no longer the sole provenance of the Northern Hemisphere, and no longer a reflection of European/North American Attitudes.
This is not a DEI virtue signal, this is simply fact. Doom is becoming the weapon of choice for many groups outside of the usual sub-culture, and Divide and Dissolve may be the most exciting. And the most brutal.
Divide and Dissolve’s tour kicks off on the 23rd in Portland, Oregon and makes various twists and turns over the coming weeks. You can get the full schedule here.
